The day has finally come for Rick, Eliana, and I to announce with joy:

Eliana is going to be a big sister!

That’s right!  A big sister.

Rick and I are expecting Baby Wyse #2 at the beginning of April, 2014.

Two babies, 15 1/2 months apart (according to my due date).  And we couldn’t be happier.

I’m relieved to share with those of you who remember my last pregnancy that so far this one has been significantly easier.  Baby Wyse #2 has blessed me with a gentle start to his or her life.

When I was single, praying daily for a husband, children, and a home of my own, I read Isaiah 54 regularly and committed much of it to memory:

Sing, O barren!
Break forth into singing, and cry aloud,
You who have not labored with child.
For more are the children of the desolate
Than the children of the married woman,”
Declares the Lord.

Please, please, please…  Let me encourage those of you who wait for God to fulfill His promises to you!  I was alone, afraid, time was running out, and I couldn’t make anything happen for myself in spite of all my attempts.  And then, within three years, God opened the windows of heaven and poured out a blessing so rich that I can hardly contain it all.

A godly husband.
Two children.
A home to call my own.
Dreams I can’t even share, come true.

If you’re waiting for something also – a spouse, a child, salvation of a loved one, that long overdue promotion, a little recognition, to be told he’s proud of you, a book deal, a break through, a financial miracle, a job, healing…  Wait for the Lord.  He will take care of you too.

Psalm 37:3-5

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord,
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your ways to the Lord;
Trust Him and He will act.

I really enjoy reading this book throughout my pregnancies. It’s a fun way to keep up with what’s happening:

  1. One of my favorite Psalms is, “Blessed is the woman whose trust is in the Lord for His promises to her are true.”

    • That’s beautiful, Sharon. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I am super excited about your news!! Congratulations, Kimberly and Rick!

    • Thanks, Leslie! I doubt we’ll be able to catch up with you and Pat, but we’re trying. 🙂

    • Thanks, Jackie! Eliana was so excited yesterday when she saw your wedding picture. She just kicked and kicked and went, “eh, eh, eh!” That will currently be translated as ‘ “I love my Aunt Jackie! I can’t wait to see her again!”

  5. Celebrating with you today and praising God for His faithfulness!!

    • Thanks for checking it out and commenting, Wendy.

  8. Trusting and praying with you, Karen. I believe God has blessings in store for you.

  9. Rejoicing with you today! Thank you for writing such encouraging words. No matter what season we are in God is faithful!

If we were chatting over a cup of coffee, what would you tell me?
